Well here goes...my very first post as a Sizzix blogger!
I am a life long Sizzix enthusiast so it is such a pleasure to return to the company after leaving several years ago to spend time with my family. It is amazing to see how the products have developed and with so many exciting things to play with here in the design room, there are simply not enough hours in the working day!
I have really enjoyed my first week in the office and despite all of the many changes it is nice to see that some things remain the same...I am working along side my lovely Pete! We have already fallen into our old routines, fighting over the best papers, embellishments and ribbons. We have known each other for over 35 years so I guess he wouldn't mind if I likened him to a pair of comfy slippers...he has really helped me to settle back in to my role.
Some people have techniques that they are passionate about but for me it is all about the colour. I love working with various materials and enjoy stitching and home decor just as much as card making and paper crafting. What makes everything exciting for me is the colour selection process and I take inspiration from everywhere!
Here I have created a simple set of projects using the new Brenda Walton's Favourite Things range of dies. I have kept the projects really simple with the focus on the gorgeous papers and of course the dies.
Perfect for a feminine Birthday celebration, and of course pink isn't compulsory...just happens to be one of my favourites! Here are some close ups for you to see how gorgeous this 'Fine and Dandy' paper by My Minds Eye really is.
This gorgeous Cake box is created using a Big Shot Pro die, Box Decorative Cake by Deena Designs, I have added an additional cut out white lid to create an icing effect but it comes with this adorable doily edge as standard.
I have loved creating this and look forward to getting my hands on, umm I mean designing with, the rest of the Brenda Walton collection, with so many Bigz dies I am already thinking what I can create with fabric! I'll keep you posted!
