A Die for All Seasons

Hello,
This week I want to share some of my ideas using the Big Shot Starter Kit Bigz Basic Shapes Die, as I have said before in my Blog, I really love the versatility of the embossing folder and set of dies that come with the machine but we all know that the crafting possibilities are endless when it comes to a Bigz die. With their steel rule technology, Bigz dies can cut anything that a scissors can, whether it is multiple layers of paper and card or materials such as leather, balsa wood, fabric and metal.

I have shown in previous Blogs how to use this Bigz die to cut a range of materials to create home decor items but I have really enjoyed playing with simple paper layering today. The fact that you can cut multiple layers at a time make light work of card making, I have completed ten cards which each take less than 10 minutes to create and all just using the circles and small heart from the die. Once I got  started it was seriously difficult to stop at 10!

I think that the images are fairly self-explanitory so I won't bore you with the methods for making each card. You will notice that occasionally I have added an extra small circles, (theTeddy Bear's nose for example), these are created using hole punches.

For those of you who do not own a Big Shot Starter Kit don't forget that there are other circle and heart dies that you could use in the same way. Also bear in mind that I have kept these cards simple with the use of card but imagine how ADORABLE the Teddy Bear would look if made from felt?

Other Sizzix Dies which could be used to create these simple projects when using paper and card are:

Or for extra versatility the steel rule dies that you could use which will give you the option to cut an endless amount of other materials, I suggest the following:

Pete has created lots of other circle ideas on Sizzix Die-Cutting 101 so don't forget to check them out!

Have fun crafting!
