Hello,
It was a lovely sunny bank holiday in Wales and it was really nice to see family and friends making the most of the time before the children go off to school and the nights really start to draw in. Pete and I were just chatting in the design room and we both agree that once the August bank holiday is over we want Autumn to arrive as soon as possible! I want to put away my summer clothes and get all cosy in wooly jumpers and socks. I also have to admit that I love the predictability of Autumn, lets face it we never get to December with the leaves still on the trees do we!
Talking about December, this week I have been creating Christmas projects for for Pete to take with him to his Create & Craft show next weekend. He will be amazing the nation with his demonstrations this Saturday, 31st August and there will be two opportunities to pick up his brilliant hints and tips, first at 10 am and then once again at four in the afternoon.
One of the Sizzix dies that he will be demonstrating is the new Brenda Walton Snowflake Medallion Bigz Die. It has the capability of creating two different sized Medallion shapes but here I have used the smaller of the two.
I created the base for the Christmas Wreath using two different sized plates as my templates...very High Tech I know! I drew around them and then cut out the ring from card before sticking the die-cut and assembled Medallion shapes using a hot glue gun.
Some of the Medallion shapes were raised using several layers of foam pads to give the wreath more dimension.
I have decorated the centre of each Medallion with a miss-matched selection of large brads. You will need to stick them into position with the hot glue gun as the Medallions are two deep for the brads to be attached in the regular way.
This little gift bag decoration is simple to demonstrate that although the die is called 'Snowflake Medallion' this doesn't restrict its use and can be used on lots of everyday projects such as card making, scrapbooking and gift bag decoration.
Again this Medallion has been decorated with a really cute brad which I think makes all the difference.
You will be able to see other projects and a demonstration of how the shape is assembled during Pete's shows so be sure to watch!
Have a great week!
