Ready, Steady Christmas Craft!!

I know, I know, it's no surprise Christmas is nearly here but I can't believe how quick it has suddenly arrived. This is the last week in work and I hadn't written a single card!

So I put my head in gear and decided to make a batch of cards to give out to the rest of the marketing team here at Sizzix, it took less than two hours to complete them and I even managed to personalise each one!

Ok, so to speed up the process when created several cards the same, I think it is always best to pre-cut everything and also if you have printing to do, do it all at the same time. It is amazing how much time is saved this way.

The cards are all 9.5cm square and I have covered the front of each one with spotty, MME Lost & Found 3 'Oliver' paper stuck into position using double-sided tape. I also used double-sided tape to stick a 3x7.5cm band of MME blue Quatrerfoil paper across the centre of the card on a slight angle.

I have used The Tim Holtz Framelits with Stamps set 'Holiday Joy' to create the phrase 'Joy'.

It is so easy to register with the Framelit technology and with the added dimension created using a foam pad, this is a great simple motif for the Christmas card.

I have used my PC & printer to create the names required. I chose American Typewriter font in 12pt and printed in brown ink onto a textured off white card. When they were all printed I trimmed them and cut a 'v' into the end and stuck this on an angle to a similar shaped red patterned piece of paper.

I have curled the ends of the labels slightly and then stuck them into position using PVA.

I printed and die-cut the snowflake shape from the set and used 2 layers of foam pads to stick this into position. I love any excuse to staple projects so I used two sizes of staples to decorate the finished cards.

And here you go...standing like little soldiers are the completed cards!
There is something really satisfying about creating batches of cards using the same design.

OH NO! I have just realised that this card size isn't regular...this will mean creating an envelope for each one...ggrrhhh! Sensible people will create their designs to fit existing envelopes obviously!
So much for my time saving intentions, ha!ha!

I would love to here what you have done this year to speed up your Christmas crafting?
Have a great week!
